The Best Cartoons For Kids in Urdu

Me and my relationship with screen time for children has always been a bit… difficult. I spent a lot of time really avoiding screen time when it was just me and my daughter because it had been drilled into my head the screen time is nothing short of the devil’s work. And to be fair, I still do believe that screen time is definitely not the best, most educational and most stimulating thing your child can be doing. Especially when learning a language, screen time certainly comes way after speaking, reading and observing.

Having said that, I was totally knocked off my feet during the first COVID lockdown when I was a University student, pregnant with my second and suddenly without childcare for my eldest. Begrudgingly, screen time entered our lives. And then my son was born. Screen time became a good, reliable friend I found myself leaning on more and more.

Within reasonable limits, I have changed my mind about screen time – it isn’t the devil’s work. I know this because the devil would never teach my daughter Urdu nursery rhymes and the alphabet. Lol.

Here, I’ve compiled a short list of what I’ve found to be the best cartoons for kids in Urdu. to help you narrow down the vast search.

In my experience, I found I had to sift through A LOT of Urdu cartoons and content that just wasn’t of satisfactory quality due to a number of reasons – sometimes the audio wasn’t great, sometimes I found the weird accents and voices they put on made it really difficult for both me and my daughter to actually understand what they were saying – I want someone to actually sound like a real human and not like an annoying nasal-y camel?! Additionally, when the quality of the graphics were a bit old fashioned, it put my daughter off and she was less likely to be interested in the story.

This list contains the Urdu cartoons that I found of pretty good quality in terms of audio, graphics and in the message they are trying to put across.

I hope you find this useful!
